And finally, we finish up with a 4 day immersion where you’ll offer your final class practicum, and together we’ll graduate with celebration and reflection on how far we’ve all come!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have an advanced practice to participate in YTT?

No, you don’t need to be an advanced practitioner or a ‘bendy’ yogi. We believe that the depth of your practice is measured not by the complexity of the poses you can do, but by your commitment to showing up on the mat (and life!) with an open heart and mind.

To ensure you get the most out of our training, we recommend that you have been regularly practicing for at least a year.

I’ve been practicing for years but I don’t think I’ll ever be one for a headstand, is YTT still for me?

Absolutely. If you have a curious mind and crave delving deeper, YTT is for you. Advanced postures are just that—advanced. Many teachers don’t incorporate them into their practice or classes (there are other inversions you can substitute with), or you never know, YTT may spark your determination to work towards a headstand!

Remember, yoga is a journey, and everyone’s path is unique. Our training is designed to meet you wherever you are on your journey and support you as you continue to grow and evolve, both on and off the mat.

What kind of yoga will you be teaching?

Embracing both tradition and innovation, our training is deeply inspired by Classical Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda. You can expect a diverse blend of Vinyasa Flow classes to underpin the training,  while the vast exploration of yogic philosophy will encourage open-minded critical thinking and a deepening of intuitive awareness to individuals seeking transformation through a yogic outlook.

If you’re new to Living Flow, join us for a practice to see if we’re the right fit. For those already in love with the yoga Living Flow shares, expect to immerse yourself in all that we’re about!

I’m not sure I want to teach yoga, will I still benefit from the course?

Yes, absolutely! Whether or not you intend to teach yoga, if you approach this course with a genuine desire for personal growth and a deeper connection to yoga, it will undoubtedly enrich your life. Many individuals enroll in YTT without the intention of teaching and find themselves inspired to share their newfound knowledge. Others simply use the course for personal development, and that’s perfectly valid too! The key is to be open to the journey and willing to participate fully in practice teaching exercises throughout the course.

I definitely want to teach Yoga. Is this course for me?

Yes, absolutely! Our course is designed specifically for individuals like you who are passionate about teaching yoga. Upon completion, you will receive a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification, which qualifies you to teach yoga anywhere in the world. This comprehensive certification program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to embark!

Where will the YTT retreat immersions take place?

Our YTT retreat immersions will be hosted at Happy Buddha Retreats, nestled in the serene landscape of Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains, which serves as Natalie’s home base. During your stay, you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodations in twin-share rooms. The training sessions will be conducted in the tranquil Zen Den studio, offering a picturesque view, while the final two immersions will take place in the inspiring Verandah Studio. Additionally, nutritious vegetarian meals are provided throughout your stay.

I have an injury? How can we manage this if I participate?

If you’re dealing with an injury that you’re already managing in your practice, rest assured that we’ll continue to support you during YTT. Life and injuries happen! Learning how to modify, adapt, and listen to our bodies is a valuable skill, and YTT will provide you with additional tools and knowledge to navigate injuries gracefully.

What if I can’t make any of the dates? What happens?

To receive certification, attendance of 90% of the yoga teacher training program is required. While we recommend a commitment to 100% attendance, we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. If you’re unexpectedly unable to attend a session, you can make up for it by participating in an equivalent public class(es) at Living Flow Yoga. Missed lectures can also be compensated for. However, missing a full day or weekend immersion is not permitted. Further details are outlined in our Attendance Policy. (Email us for a copy).

How much time should I set aside for study in between immersions?

Between YTT immersions, we encourage you to maintain your practice and reflect on your yoga journey. Balance is also key so be sure to look after yourself! Our part-time program is designed to fit into a dynamic lifestyle, so setting aside a few hours each week for practice and study should suffice.

Are there resources or study materials I will need to invest in?

Yes, essential resources to support your YTT are these four books:

  • The Heart of Yoga by T.K.V Desikachar
  • Wheels of Life by Judith Anodea
  • Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff
  • Teaching Yoga by Donna Farhi

And if you’re excited to build out your yogi bookshelf other optional resources are:

  • Ayurveda | The Science of Self-Healing by Dr. Vasant Lad
  • Living the Sutras by Kelly DiNardo & Amy Pearce-Hayden

Remember, you don’t necessarily need to purchase these brand new. Options could be borrowing from a friend who has participated in YTT before, or loaning from your local library. FB marketplace is also a good place to seek out these books.

How much is the program? Is there a payment plan?

Upon enrolment, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is included in the program fee.

Early Bird price is $5590 and ends May 31, 2024  ($500 + $5090). After May 31, the RRP is $5960 ($500 + $5460). Final payment, regardless of early bird or RRP due 2 August 2024

Bookings after 2 August require total upfront payment.

Our payment plan will consist of a $500 non-refundable deposit, a first instalment of $2545 due within 30 days and a second installment of $2545 due within 60 days (or the final payment date of August 2.)

Will I be registered to teach yoga on completion of the course?

After completing our YTT course and obtaining first aid certification and public liability insurance, you’ll be fully equipped and empowered to embark on your journey as a yoga teacher! We delve into these topics in greater detail during YTT to ensure you feel confident and prepared to share your passion for yoga with others.

Is this yoga teacher training course Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes, absolutely! Our yoga teacher training course is proudly Yoga Alliance certified, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of training and accreditation recognised globally in the yoga community.
